Thanks for this very positive story. Certainly it will be a relief to not be worrying about this business all the time. In fact, even if we're not laid off, I intend to continue pursuing the half-dozen job applications I've already put in. It would be a huge relief to work someplace where you're not constantly worried about what the bosses will do next -- even if the pay is lower!

I was laid off from my nice comfortable job last October. It is amazing to me that when the worst thing I could imagine actually happened to me, the Universe stepped up and supported me. The best part was that after the shoe dropped and I was let go, all the fear and anxiety around my job evaporated. What a relief not to have that awful anxiety knot in my gut. I applied to work at various places that offer health insurance to part time employees. At the very last minute financially speaking, I was hired by a company/store at which I have always shopped and that I love. My COBRA benefits were eating up such a huge part of my VERY limited income. My income is very small, BUT I have health insurance and I get to work with some of the most interesting people I've ever met. I have a side business that keeps me in groceries and gas. I'm 57. I've never enjoyed uncertainty and change. Somehow I found the faith that all will be well. It is. Amazing. The present times are frightening, but as bright and resourceful as you are, I truly believe that you are in for a surprise...in a very good way.
