Yeah, I’m afraid that’s the conclusion I’d come to, also.

There really wasn’t any question of the happy homeowner tentatively opening the compost lid, though: I don’t have any beekeeping clothing or veiling and at my age probably could not withstand a whole bunch of bee stings. If he was such a great beekeeper, though, you’d think he would have had that kind of gear. I expect he was really just an exterminator pretending to be a beekeeper. {sigh}

I concur, the bee dude is a moron. He should have been able to determine the difference between foraging bees and a freakin’ hive. I mourn the loss of your compost, composter, bees in the acacia and trust in the bee dude. Bad day all around.

I understand how easy it is to get talked into something when a so-called expert is standing there telling you it’s your only choice. But I think what you’ve got there is one really dumb bee dude.
