Man vs. Debt did this week’s Carnival of Personal Finance. This week’s CoPF kindly includes Funny’s squib on the prevalence of scary debt levels among Americans.

The Money Hacks Carnival appears at Money Beagle this week. Funny’s tip on avoiding credit card hacking and balance inquiries popped up here. Money Savings Deals reports that Apple is giving away a free iPod with the purchase of a new Mac! And speaking of Costco memberships, as we were a moment ago, Money Blue Book considers whether the premium Costco Executive membership is worth the extra $50 cost.

M Is for Money hosted this week’s Festival Frugality, where Modern Gal contributed a nice piece on how to cope with a downturn in your freelance business. Over at Debt Free Adventure, Matt concocts a new recipe for homemade dishwasher detergent and rinse aid—and then he compares prices between the DIY stuff and the commercial products. Sound Money Matters posts an interesting article on the new system of home appraisals. And this editon of the FoF includes Funny’s update on the programmable thermostat adventure.
