Speaking of moments of fame…

Have you noticed the nifty new Best of Money Carnival, organized by Free Money Finance? I came across it when WiseBread posted the eighth edition. The idea is to create a truly competitive, selective showcase for the best PF posts around. The host picks a Winner of ten posts that make the week’s carnival. The result: some mighty interesting pieces of writing.

An extremely cool feature of this carnival is that at the end of the year, FMF will select the “best of the best” among the weekly winners and will contribute $1,000 to that blogger’s charity.

I really enjoyed Amy Fontinelle’s How to Become a Millionaire, which manages to be at once engaging, entertaining, and informative. Those of us who’ve been doing this for awhile know that’s no easy trick. Will Chen’s pick for the week’s Winner is Mean vs. Median: Know the Difference or Risk Being Manipulated, in which the canny Darwin of Darwin’s finance not only explains the famous difference but also explains why it should matter to you and me! This one, I’ve gotta save to post for my students in September.

What’s good about Best of Money is that every single entry in this carnival is worth reading. Don’t just sit there…check it out!
