See, that gets my goat. As much as I enjoy free reading and resources from the library, and appreciate free e-books, it either has to be paid for upfront or made available by a means in which the author is compensated for their work. I can't and don't expect people to provide expertise and labor for free - unless it's online in the blogosphere ;) - else how and why would people devote their valuable time and energy to creating these works in the first place?

Aggravating.

That's horrible! How dare they! As a writer I am frustrated and very angry about this. Thanks for the heads up.

I also find it ironic that students have had to go before review boards and possibly face litigation because they didn't cite something correctly. (No I'm not talking about plagiarism I'm talking about a grammer mistake as in they put a comma instead of a period in a citation so it didn't count type thing) but Google appears to be essentially getting off with a slap on the wrist if not making a profit off this.

This changes my mind on the free books thing. I thought it was great when it was all stuff that was out of copyright (classics and such) but to violate your copyright is just wrong...

This is very scary. i'm going to think twice about using google's search engine. isn't gmail linked to google? And my son linked by blog to google adsense. I thought microsoft was the monopoly to fer, but we may all be selling our souls to google.

I'm going to have to read your book on Robert Sidney one of these days.
