Moments of Fame

This week Funny appeared in two carnivals:

The 87th Money Hacks Carnival, hosted by Green Panda Treehouse, with A$k and Re¢eive, Revisited, and
The 227th Carnival of Personal Finance, hosted by Fabulously Broke, with Do You Have to Be Wealthy to be Financially Independent?

One of these links is out of whack for the time being, and so instead of listing entertaining posts in the carnivals themselves, I’d like to highlight a couple of really cool posts from the host sites.

Check out this astonishing video at Fabulously Broke. Then, if you’re brave enough to go back in the kitchen after that, try the to-die-for recipe for smoked salmon sushi, a post that also includes a ginger hot drink.

Green Panda has a nice review of the latest version of Quicken Home & Business. Ugh. I guess I’m going to have to update my Quicken 2006 for Mac. I hate that. When it ain’t broke, why fix it? The only thing I dislike about Quicken is its evil business model of forcing customers to buy new software that they don’t need. It’s not only a waste of money, it’s a hassle. Moving on, GP has a caveat about modeling scams that take young people to the cleaners.
