…sort of… Just signed up this morning, and now see the learning curve for this thing will be a bit steep for a survivor of the Cretaceous.
At any rate, I’m finally on Twitter, no doubt moments before another comet comes along to end the Twitter Age. Those comets: what a nuisance!
The username is FunnyAboutMoney. I have yet to figure out what the “@” function is about, but if it has significance, will let you know. Please sign up to “follow” FaM, and let me know how to find you on Twitter so I can sign up to follow you!

Hey, I am following you on twitter. Twitter has been a lot of fun for me, and invaluable for “breaking news”, people are often twittering from the event, and information is much more timely than even the news on TV.
When fires were taking out San Diego last year, I followed the track of the wildfires on Twitter for my sister who lives there, and was able to call her with the latest updates, block by block, twittered by people who were right there. The info was worth its weight in gold and very reassuring.
The @ function just means someone replied to you, and everyone can see it, you can also send private direct messages to people. So if you see “@funnyaboutmoney” it means someone is replying to you. I sent you a reply on Twitter so you could see what it looks like.
When I ask questions on Twitter, I get quick replies — for example, I wanted to take a class in VT and wanted to know if it was Worth It, and instantly received a very good review and endorsement from someone who lives near me.
Learn to do searches too, it is amazing what people post on. The # is just to help search, and people will put a # and a specific term. For example you can search #greenthumbs and pull up a lot of great gardening posts. Search on #VT and pull up a lot of stuff on Vermont.
Twitter won’t be going away anytime soon, it is too useful. Have fun with it!
@ Chance: Well, I’ll keep trying. Just now it won’t let me back in: doesn’t recognize my username & password. Tried sending a query on their contact for: let’s see if they have a human being who will answer.
You should also get emails when someone begins to follow you. I did, without ever touching my settings for the first … 20 days?
Congrats! I’m heading over to follow you now!
