Vote for Funny in the next round of FMF’s March Madness!

Hey, FMF already has a new round of the March Madness blog contest online. This is the place! Would you please go there and vote for “Truth the Highest Thing”? As Funny moves up the ranks, of course the competition gets stiffer. This week’s round has four (if you count Funny’s “Truth” entry) very nice posts, each of which is highly worthy.

Choir members, having gotten wind of the fact that Funny has managed to get through the first couple of rounds, are starting to get excited about the possibility that we might win anywhere from $100 to $500 for the church and its extraordinary music program.

I wish you all could have been there Sunday morning, when 40 little choristers from the Day School joined us in the choir loft (it was very crowded up there!) and sang like beautiful angels. Two of my friends said we should’ve brought a camera to catch Scott’s exuberant body language as he directed them to be all they can be. It’s a great program that reaches people from childhood to old age, from kindergarten to hospice. I hope you’ll help support this good work with your vote at Free Money Finance.

March Madness: THIS WEEKEND!

Be sure to drop by Free Money Finance to vote in Round 2 of March Madness! FMF says he intends to declare a winner on Monday, so if you’re going to vote, do it soon. Funny is up against a line-up of very strong candidates and needs your help!

🙂

March Madness, Round 2!

FMF reports that Funny’s post is up in Round 2 of the March Madness contest. Just came from there and…yipe! There are some REALLY  good posts!

Please go on over to the site and vote for your favorites. FMF asks that we vote only once in each round (duh!) for our choices. So if you voted for Funny in the last round, you can vote again in this one…but don’t “forget” your first vote in Round 2 and accidentally vote twice in the same round. 🙄

FMF will donate from $100 to $500 (depending on the final ranking) to each winner’s favorite charity. I’m hoping to snare five hundred buckolas for All Saints, where they actually expressed some concern and caring at the time I was canned. Self-centered motive: yes. Altruistic cause: even more yes. They support charities ranging from soup kitchens and old folks’ homes to Habitat for Humanity.

Vote!

Hoot! Check this out!

A really interesting article has just popped up over at Brip Blap. Steve writes about what happens when a real estate seller idly googled the name of a buyer and came upon the person’s Facebook page. It’s an amazing story.

I won’t spoil the fun by rehearsing it here: you’ve gotta read it!

Not one but TWO giveaways!!

Check out what Revanche is up to over at A Gai Shan Life. She’s engineered a double giveaway contest: in a single event, she’s offering chances at a free year-long subscription to PearBudget and a chance at 500 free full color (!) business cards from Uprinting.

PearBudget is an online budgeting program, described by its proprietors as simpler and more convenient to use than Quicken. If you’re new to budgeting or it’s a task you truly hate loathe and despise, the freebie online test run is an easy way to get started on a simple, workable budget.

Online business card printing is kinda cool. Tina managed to score a box of freebies for The Copyeditor’s Desk from one of the online companies. The design was just fine, printing was excellent, and the cards were very serviceable—and infinitely better than running them off on an HP desktop printer. I’d like to get some for FaM.
