Love Drop!

Now that I’m done whining about my tiny travails, it’s time to consider someone who has some serious issues:

Love Drop is at it again! They just came back from the Indianapolis area where they dropped $2,500 worth of baby gifts on newborn triplets (they’re so cute!!), and THIS month they’re trying to round up the love for another mother who needs our help — this time fighting against cancer for the 3rd time in 10 years.

Any of us in the same situation would probably use any extra money toward medical bills, so that’s why this month we want to instead focus on giving Marci and family the gift of quality time together. Let’s send them somewhere amazing and help them form memories that will last forever! We’re looking for creative ideas this month… financial gifts too, but also anything that will help them escape together for a while.

Want to help Marci and her family from Fort Collins, Colorado out? Here are 3 ways:

Give $1.00 – This money will help us give her some great quality time!
Give a gift card – Gift cards are extremely helpful, especially to places that are national.
Donate TRAVEL stuff – Airline miles, timeshare options, destination packages, etc. – whatever you have access to!

Thanks guys! You can reach the Love Drop team here anytime with questions: team (at) love drop (dot) us., or by checking them out at LoveDrop.us. Thanks everyone! We’ll let you know how it goes!

So… Are you well? Are you free of major health problems? Are your kids healthy and full of ginger? Will you put food on your table tonight?

How’s about for each blessing you have, you donate $5 for Marci?

New Love Drop!

Here’s this month’s message from Love Drop. As you’ll recall, the group selects one worthy family at a time and blogs together to raise donations in kind and cash. Check it out!

Hey guys! The Love Drop team is at it again! They just came back from the Boston area where they dropped $5,000 worth of appliances and gifts to a woman who recently got hit by a car and is recovering in a wheelchair, and THIS month they’re trying to round up the love for precious newborn triplets!

We want to help Jeff and Becca (the parents) prepare to bring them home from the hospital, as all three were born very underweight and are currently in the Neonatal ICU (they’re doing great though! And will be coming home soon). With four children already, adding a surprise batch of triplets is going to put considerable financial strain on the family, and that’s where we come in

Let’s help give them everything they need to welcome the triplets home, including diapers, food, furniture, gift cards – any cool baby stuff you can think of. We’re shooting for at least $3,000 in cash, plus gifts.

Want to help? Here are three ways you can participate:

  • Give $1.00 – This money will help go to their family, and every dollar counts!
  • Give a gift card – Gift cards are extremely helpful. Places like Target, Wal-mart, restaurants, etc would be incredible. out.
  • Donate baby stuff! – Specifically diapers, formula and clothes. Gift cards here are awesome too. (Or maybe you have contacts in the baby world?)

You can reach the Love Drop team here anytime with questions: team (at) love drop (dot) us., or by checking them out at LoveDrop.us. Thanks everyone! We’ll let you know how it goes!

Love Drop Update

Love Drop, the terrific blogger’s combine whose goal is to bring relief and caring to families in dire need, reports that the April Love Drop aided the Kahlens, who have suffered from the economic collapse and whose daughter suffers a hereditary malady. Take a look at the fantastic array of money and gifts showered on this deserving family.

May’s Love Drop family is the Stalnakers, generous community-minded Louisianans going through hard times.

Want to help?  Here are three ways you can participate:

Help them get a car!  The #1 goal is to give them a reliable used car in decent working order. If you have any leads, discounts, or connections in this area, please email Love Drop and let them know.

Give $1.00. This money will help get them back on their feet, and relieve some financial burden. Every dollar counts!

Give a gift or service. Gift cards are always helpful. Places like Target, Wal-mart, restaurants, etc would definitely help them out. Services too—especially those you can offer yourselves, or from your company.

And if you have a site of your own, don’t fail to blog about this month’s family in need!

Love Drop Gets Even Better

Not long ago I mentioned that J. Money of Budgets are Sexy has banded together with some other bloggers to create a charitable enterprise whose purpose is to “drop” a gift on a worthy person or family once a month. The idea is to donate a small amount—as little as a dollar a month—on the theory that there’s power (and wealth) in numbers. Here’s a video about Jill, recipient of the group’s first love drop:

Well, now Love Drop has kicked it up a notch. They’ve started a blogger network, which you can join for free to help publicize each new project. You don’t have to be a PF blogger—as you can see, the list of members is wildly diverse. Join the network, blog about Love Drop once a month, and each month they’ll send you a link to the latest video. Take it a step further: become a team member, donate as much or as little as you can afford and you can join the group’s forums, helping to brainstorm new creative ideas. You also can give a gift or provide a service: gift cards, household goods, football cards/jerseys for the boys, web design services, pampering gifts for the month’s recipient, etc. (email all ideas/questions to team (at) lovedrop.us, and they’ll make it happen).

I’m hereby joining up. Join me in joining Love Drop!
