…when I talk about my fellow homicidal drivers?
Check this one out! Great photos. At freeway speeds, the woman managed to wedge her SUV at a right angle (!) underneath an 18-wheeler.
Think of that! Really, it’s hard to imagine. How on earth did she do that? And then…that semi rig is a TANKER TRUCK! It did not blow up, which says something about safety design in newer trucks. I guess. Or else God was on her or the truck driver’s side.
And that lady is why I want an armored tank to drive the fine streets of Phoenix.
Be careful with your words – my “fellow” homicidal drivers – implies that you’re one too! I’m sure homicidal thoughts may drift into your stream of consciousness sometimes, but I’m sure you don’t drive like that!
That’s excellent that you caught my meaning! 😉
Seriously: everyone in this city seems to have their moments of homicidal ideation. I can hardly point the finger at my fellow drivers without taking some responsibility for the madness on our roads.
The plot thickens in the story of the woman who ended up at right angles under a tanker truck. Miraculously, she survived, even though the roof of her SUV was peeled off by the 18-wheeler’s undercarriage.
As it develops, another vehicle, described vaguely as “a work truck,” apparently hit the concrete median barrier. Some sort of ricocheting action ensued, in which the SUV was struck and ended up being slammed under the tanker. This explains how she came to rest at right angles to the truck’s chassis: she did not drive _at_ the truck…she was propelled _into_ it.
That she got out of that alive — and reportedly without “serious” injuries, whatever that means — truly is some sort of miracle. Presumably every air-bag in her SUV must have gone off and padded her like a chick in an egg.
And that is life on the mean streets of lovely Phoenix. Thank God the woman escaped in one piece…that’s not the norm here.
