So this guy is trying to get me to move into an old-folks’ home called The Beatitudes.
Right? I do NOT want to live in any such place: hated living in the college dorms, and do not want to end my life on that note.
What does he do? He emails my son with “Do you have availability on Thursday October 8th at 10:30?” Nary a word to me. The assumption being that as a doddering old bat, of course I have NOTHING else to do next Thursday.
And right there: that presumptiveness. THAT is why I do not want to live in one of those places.
Hi!! Just checking in from Florida! Catching up on all the Funny Farm news. I hope that you do get to stay in your home. Today is my 65th birthday. I am at Road so that I can go to my sister‘s house make a breakfast and prepare for lunch and set up something for dinner. She is 15 years older than me. You’ve done everything I can to keep her of her home as we did for my mother. I hope we can let her continue to age in place. But, she has not steady on her feet and uses a walker once in a while she has a fall. But, the way I look at it is she’s still got her full faculties and she wants to be at home. I hope that Mojito will find a way for you to stay at the farm. I’ll keep you in my prayers. I think you are an amazing woman. You’ve done so much in your life. You have definitely added to mine. You have taught me a lot since I found your blog. Thank you. I will visit more often and see what happens. I know you don’t like having someone in the house with you. The best thing that I can suggest is just pretend she’s not there Be yourself and enjoy yourself in the home that you have so lovingly created. Have enjoyed reading about your Mom and Dad. I miss mine too. X Have a wonderful day!
